I bought this for my son so everyday he would be looking out for the amazon truck. He is 10 and had a great time trying to figure it out. Anything that keeps him off the screen I really like. No directions came with it but he figured out how to do it from you tube. He says it is a great beginner set. I think he may be ready for the next level up. I can't tell you how it works because it looks pretty complicated but I am sure it wasn't. He thinks it is really fun so that is all that matters. I am appreciative that I was able to purchase this at a promotional price in exchange for this review. The lock is well made and is really interesting being able to see the inside. I like the fact that this came with 2 keys so that you can actually use the lock if you wanted. The extractors are well made and very sturdy. The lock came with its own case to keep it in, and the extractors have their own pouch pocket I would recommend this quality item to anyone looking to master this certain skill or to just have a little fun. No instructions are provided in this product but there’s a wealth of information available freely online such as youtube for hands on videos or guides like the MIT lockpicking guide. Opening the case I found the hard plastic (lexan perhaps) lock with visible mechanics (brass of some sort I’m guessing) absolutely fascinating. Having read books and watched videos online I had/have a firm grasp of how locks function but seeing it work with my own eyes was enlightening.
